Edit That Shit.
Okay so look, I’m 17-years-old, and you’re the last best thing I’ve got going. But then the special secret sickness starts to eat through you - what am I supposed to do?
“Dance Music,” by John Darnielle, who is apparently a time traveler and so was able to read TFiOS before writing this song.
I have been strutting around like a motherfucking badass pretty much all day because of this.

Last night, I was hanging out with some friends at their studio, playing ukulele while they drew comics and made prints. Trying to decide what to play next, I asked if they liked the Mountain Goats.
They said they had not heard the Mountain Goats.

When I recovered from shock, I played “You Were Cool” for them. Halfway through, Jordan interrupted me to say, “You’re going to make me cry, here.”

“Welcome to The Mountain Goats,” I replied.

The Heathers performing Heretic Pride by The Mountain Goats at a Tower Records, April 17, 2010.

I’ve been eagerly awaiting a new album from this amazing duo for several years. This will do in a pinch.

“Eugene Sue” tMG song that was auctioned earlier this year to raise money for tsunami relief

I had wondered if the winner of this auction would share the song with the world. I’m pleased that they did.

Some of y’all know this song.
I want you to sing it like you mean it.
You may not mean it tonight.
There will come a day when you’re gonna mean it, but good,
And I want you know the words at that time.
And I want you to be able to harness that vibe, of being able to say to somebody,
“So much I loved you.
So much I wish you would die now.

dictionaryofobscuresorrows:

adj. entranced and unsettled by the vastness of the universe, experienced in a jolt of recognition that the night sky is not just a wallpaper but a deeply foreign ocean whose currents are steadily carrying off all other castaways, who share our predicament but are already well out of earshot—worlds and stars who would’ve been lost entirely except for the scrap of light they were able to fling out into the dark, a message in a bottle that’s only just now washing up on the Earth’s atmosphere, an invitation to a party that already ended a million years ago.

Somewhat unrelated: “Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows” sounds like a description of a Mountain Goats album, if not a title.

2. Frank Turner – Peggy Sang the Blues
3. Frank Turner – I Still Believe
4. Janelle Monáe – Tightrope
5. Man With Hat – When You Wake Up

So yeah, I clearly really liked the new Frank Turner record. “Miss New York” and “Tightrope” have both been put on repeat more than once, so no surprise there. I am surprised about Culann’s Hounds, though. Not sure how that happened. The rest of my top artists all had new records out this year.
I’m always a little suspicious of the accuracy of last.fm’s data. It already claims that I’ve listened to Hank Green more than Mumford & Sons, and I don’t think that’s possible.
