Edit That Shit.
Make good stuff, then make it easy for people to buy it. There’s your anti-piracy plan.

Jonathan Coulton is wise.

There have been many adorable duets on “Tonight You Belong To Me,” but none so tender as John Hodgman and Jonathan Coulton.

Shop Vac by Jonathan Coulton

Jarrett Heather created a wonderful kinetic typography animated music video for “Shop Vac” by Jonathan Coulton.

This is the kind of amazing art that gets made because of art being released under Creative Commons. Totally gorgeous and totally slick!

Top Five Dreams I Can Remember

1. Fighting aliens with Frank Turner and Jerry “Tycho” Holkins at a Who concert in the ’70s.
2. Going to a comic con panel that consisted of Amanda Palmer reading poetry while Neil Gaiman played with kittens at her feet.
3. While singing a Jonathan Coulton song at a karaoke bar in a hotel, JoCo, Paul, and Storm (who happen to be staying at the hotel) overhear me and invite me to join them on tour.
4. Being chased through a department store by a giant blob, I realize it’s a dream and say “Computer, end program.” I am then on a holodeck aboard the Enterprise.
5. Aliens or robots from space have destroyed all the money on earth as a social experiment. I am living in New York and dating a record store owner with Ronen’s hair, who makes a good living bartering vinyl. When the giants ants attack, my boyfriend and I decide to try riding the rails out west, where we’ve heard things aren’t as bad. Saying goodbye to my cat, whom I can’t take with me, I begin to sing “I Guess This is Goodbye” from Into The Woods.

Sing hey, hidey-ho, where’d the old lobster go?
With his body so furry and brown.
Sing ho, hidey-hey, have they all gone away?
For we haven’t seen many around…

A few nights ago, I dreamed that I was doing karaoke at a hotel bar, and sang a Jonathan Coulton song. It turned out that Jonathan Coulton was staying at the hotel with Paul & Storm, and they heard me sing. Of course, they thought I was awesome and invited me to join them on tour.

Seriously, how often do you have a dream that’s actually something you wish would happen? Usually it’s all, “I was at my grandma’s house but it wasn’t really my grandma’s house, and Woody Allen was a bear.”

Hands down, the best dream I’m had since the time I fought alien mind-control slugs with Frank Turner and Jerry Holkins at a Who concert in the ’70s.
