commission for matt manic. he payed me with a root beard, which is a magical drink made of root beer vodka and a&w cream soda. true story.

Guys, the Nation of Amanda is now on Tumblr. If you like adorable doodles and sweet watercolors, you should definitely be following her. If you like the colors on anything Mitch Clem has done for the last ever, you should be following her.

She painted a mogwai playing the ukulele; why are we still talking about this?

A ukulele cover of Rancid’s “Olympia, WA,” styled somewhat after a cover by Hank and Katherine Green.

I just stayed up way past my bedtime to get this video all squared away, so please make me feel better about my poor life choices by watching/liking/subscribing/reblogging as you see fit.

If you were one of the unfortunate 11 to see the old version of this video before I took it down, I apologize. This one is much better.

Thing I Love About Seattle #4,957:

When your bandmate breaks a ukulele string, and someone in the audience has a spare ukulele to lend him.

paintyhands:

What do you do when your boyfriend gives you a Ukulele…!!!  :o)
and then two minutes later BREAKS. UP. WITH. YOU!?!?!!!  :o((
YOU START A TOPLESS UKULELE BAND.
Uka & Her Lele’s debuted with the new Cabaret Les Rouge Follies tonight…
Come see our next show March 1st at KingKing, 9.PM ~ get tickets here!

Lexy is goddamn amazing. I’d give anything to be able to see her perform, and not just for the leles. If you live in LA, make it happen.

Sugar, you’re way better off with the uke. I wish any of the boys who’ve broken my heart would have had the decency to give me a musical instrument first.

Him: By the way, I hate Mumford & Sons.
Me: What, no!
Him: I listened to the song you played me, and I was like, "This is pretty good," and then I listened to the rest of the record, and I was like, "I HATE this."
Me: That is extremely disappointing.
Him: So my official statement is now that I like Mumford & Sons, but with the asterisk of "only when you play them on ukulele sitting on my couch."
Me: Fair enough.
Him: It is a pretty big asterisk.

manwithhat:

Here I am, performing my Epic Break-Up Song, “The Things We’ll Never Do.” I sought to express my disappointment, my longings and cravings, all of my sparring emotions while at the same time not allowing myself to become mired in those same sensations. This proved difficult, seeing as how I took a vow while training to be an actor that I would never attempt to stifle emotion from myself, that I had to endure and enjoy emotion as fully as I could. Some of the contents are drawn from reality, some are drawn from imagination. In the end, it’s a somewhat funny song? I guess?

My brother wrote this great song that makes me laugh and cry and sounds a little like “Up The Wolves” but that’s ok.

manwithhat:

A bit late in the game, I know, but I’ve finally established a YouTube account and have posted a few videos from my last live performance. You shan’t be disappointed!

Here we have my mildly notorious rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” Aren’t I witty?

My brother played an awesome solo show last week, and I caught most of it on video. Watch them, and be amazed.

Just posted a new original song: “Seersucker Prince.” Be gentle.

I’ve decided that I will give a special prize to anyone who can tell me what inspired this song. All the clues are there.

There have been many adorable duets on “Tonight You Belong To Me,” but none so tender as John Hodgman and Jonathan Coulton.
